Short Term Mission Team 2005

Sunday, August 7,
Most of the group attended Crossroads this morning.  Zack, Hannah, and Patrick did a special number while Mari joined the worship with her flute.  Darlene, Robin, Corey, Matt Long, and Jonathan helped with the kids Sunday School Class. Pastor Mark was invited to preach at One in Christ Church so several of our men went with him. (pictures on this to follow).   After the service, we had a great Filipino lunch at the church brought in by a few families, and then our youth joined their Youth Fellowship time.

In the evening, we served at New Hope Christian Church, doing an evangelistic concert for the youth.  BOY, DO THEY KNOW HOW TO WORSHIP!  The place was electrically charged, with the youth bouncing and singing and clapping!  And it wasn't just when the songs were fast (though they do LOVE those fast songs), but they would sing with passion from deep within themselves even when the songs were the slower, more serious ones.  Pastor Ding and his wife Mona have really been used by God to grow this ministry and build a love for the Lord in the youth they serve!  We were glad to hear that of the 150 or so kids there, a third were non-regulars who came after having been invited to the concert.  Patrick shared a gospel message, while Libby and Zack shared their testimonies. Corey did sign language for many of the songs. Our Wordless Dancers  (their unofficial name as I just now came up with it and they don't even know it), Aubrey,Erica, Hannah, Rachel, and Libby,
did a special dance to the song "Dahil sa Pagibig ng Dios", which is John 3:16 in Tagalog. By the way, I call them the Wordless Dancers because they were wearing Tshirts in the colors of the wordless gospel, which is what we have been sharing with children and youth during our two weeks.  The youth had a great time and we know that God was glorified as we worshipped.
